Hello there!
My name is Sorina, creator of Digital Train.
I love helping businesses with their digital problems – logo design, web design, branding and online marketing.
Currently, I am working from home part-time as an e-commerce manager, I do branding projects for various and I am practicing my writing & blogging and Pinterest marketing.
I am also the mom of 2 beautifully developing girls, (1 ½ and 2 ½ years old) and wife to a wonderful man.
I have created this blog in December 2018 and initially, I wanted to share my journey as a mom and maybe some geeky memes. I have since discovered that I can totally work from home using the skills that I learned through doing in since 2017.
I also found out that a mostly low-carb lifestyle works great for me and my family and that overall paying attention to our spending habits is essential in achieving our goals.
So, why Keto?
On the 31 of January, I gave birth to little Nadja, our second daughter. She is amazing and we feel blessed to have now 2 little healthy humans in our family.
They say life changes once you have kids but I have to add that this is an understatement. Besides the heavy responsibilities that come along with being a parent, I personally also got an extra 30 kg during my second pregnancy.
This was mostly because I ate loads of sugar and carbs, which made me feel hungry all the time. I was in a never-ending loop of high and low energy levels. It was not until I understood how eating sugars messes up with my body’s capacity to let me know that I am full and I should stop eating.
Sugar constantly gave me a lethargic state of being, plus horrible joint pain and inflammation. But this has been completely different once I went on a Keto diet after my second baby was born.
I lost all of my first baby weight, more than 35 kg in about 13 months. I now have loads of energy, amazing focus and build up motivation each week to get things done is no longer a problem. It just feels great!
A little bit about me
I went to Business School and also studied a bit of Law in my native country, Romania. Romanian law was totally not my thing. I tried different business environments there and well, nothing clicked.
Seriously, who can be successful in business before actually working in the real world, with real mentorship and feedback? Or maybe without actually owning a real business?
The school system got this totally wrong. We´ve been mostly teaching generations to obey and not challenge authority, when we should be teaching more critical thinking and problem-solving. We should spend more time promoting authenticity, having more uncomfortable discussions about personal finance, (and that of our partents and close environment) nutrition, doing teamwork and project-based learning off and online?
So that has been my focus in the last 5 years.
I found that these are things that do matter on the long run.
Luckily, nothing is fixed and we can potentially grow out of pretty much every pit we might be in as long as we look for and learn how to use the proper tools.
I strongly believe in growing yourself through constantly solving problems. I believe in personal growth over time. Getting yourself in the best possible shape you can, physically and mentally, is much better than aiming at getting rich.
This is why I decided to relocate to Germany in 2014, with a new job that I personally scouted while visiting a fair in Frankfurt. The job allowed me to travel for 3 years and do marketing and public relations for super interesting countries around the globe, in a 100% professional environment.
I enjoyed this a lot and just the difference in cultures that I encountered made me reevaluate everything I thought I once knew. Very painful to find out, but it was not much, frankly.
But I got real feedback from the wonderful team I worked with, and I learned a lot in a really short time. I am super grateful for the fact that they trusted me and gave me a lot of responsibilities. Through constant exposure, I even learned German – I went from 0 to a conversational level with horrible grammar in about a year.

Me today still trying to figure out between Die Der Das Dem Des Den
Soon after this 180 degrees life change, I met my wonderful husband Ilja. He charmed me with his humor, his blunt honesty and it turns out we have a lot in common.
We very quickly saw a future together and we got married in 2017. Ilja completed his computer engineering degree in Würzburg, Germany and has been a self-employed web developer for the last 6 years and is now moving to more complex IT project management. He loooves to talk about taxation, finances and investments.
Mom at home
Luna was born in October 2017. Being a mom has been an amazing experience for me and my personal wish is to stay at home with the children during their first years. And after they grow a bit, it would be great to be able to travel the world together.
So I figured in order for this to be possible, I need a plan and action. As soon as I entered my maternity leave, I switched to my first love, the online, and I plunged into Photoshop, Illustrator, web design and online marketing.
I managed to make money from home with logos, brand packages, websites, online shops and marketing strategy and I now help recurring and new clients solve different digital problems.
I personally love staying home, having a flexible schedule, preparing 3 (mostly) healthy meals a day for my family and spending time with them. There are so many pros to it for me.
But parenting, home management, cooking keto & working from home? Well, I’m still experimenting to prove myself that it is possible to balance it all. I am constantly practicing self-discipline and better time management. Working to replace bad habits with better ones.
But I think it is so much easier to motivate yourself if it is actually important to you. I know I always dreamed of having my online business and also of being healthy and able to take care of my family.
SO THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET
I’m very happy to share some of our mini-stories with you. To make blogging tons of fun, I write about things that I am passionate about and I hope to connect with people on the same journey.
My hope is that this blog will end up helping you to pursue your keto goals. Or motivate you to start an online business of your own and do work from home that matters to you.
Please feel free to always drop me a line if you need any kind of help on your online projects and digital journey. I would love to help because this is the work that matters to me.
